Trouble in the tree

We have trouble in the tree. Trouble for our chicks. Trouble for us. What could it be?

Sneaky Rocky

Rocky Raccoon discovered we have chickens. We've caught him hanging out in the Tulip tree outside my computer room window several times, most recently last night. When the windows are open, we think he's catching a whiff of the girls.

The Girls are a bit nervous about this most recent development.

They would prefer staying inside where it's safe, rather than living in their coop with sneaky Rocky watching from above. Lucky for them, their coop isn't finished.

We'll keep you updated on the trouble in the Tulip tree.

The Chicken Tenders

  1. Ask your Aunt about her pet chicken, McDonald, that flew into a toilet with disastrous results. She and I always wondered if the story of his demise was true, as he was living on Granny and Granddad's farm and we were not there to witness the event. Maybe he did fly into the toilet... hmm...an old mystery may have just been solved!

    1. Hi Aunt Kim. Glad to see you're on blogger now! I bet there's more to McDonald's story than just a toilet...

  2. We had a (big) mama raccoon and four babies camping out in a stack of snow tires in our shed, waiting for our chicks to move out into the "snack" pen. Luke and Papa took care of them. They're for hire (for a beer or two) if you need exterminators! :)

    1. If the live trap we borrowed doesn't work, we'll hire out Luke and Papa. We don't need sneaky Rocky breaking into the 'snack shack' and eating up the Girls.
